A manhunt was underway after several officers were shot at a mobile home park in Auburn, Alabama, late Sunday.

In a statement issued early Monday, the Auburn Police Department said officers responded to the scene Sunday night after receiving a disturbance call. At the scene, the “responding officers were injured by gunfire and were transported to local hospitals. The suspect fled and is still at large. He is considered armed and dangerous.”

An emergency blue alert was issued for the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Grady Wayne Wilkes, a white man described as “six foot tall with brown hair, hazel eyes.” He was last seen wearing “camo clothing with body armor and a helmet.”

Speaking to Opelika-Auburn News, an unidentified resident of the mobile home park said, "I heard six shots, rapid-fire like it was an automatic weapon, and then there was a brief pause, maybe a second, and then three more single shots and less than five minutes later there were sirens, and they kept coming."

Anyone with information is requested to contact the Auburn Police Department at 334-501-3100 or call 911.

Though reports suggest that one of the officers died, there was no official confirmation about the same.
