A power bank exploded into flames inside a car, destroying the vehicle completely. The incident took place in the Malaysian state of Selangor on Saturday afternoon.

The owner of the car, an unidentified student of Senarai Universiti Awam, had parked the vehicle outside his home when the power bank exploded. Soon, the car was engulfed in flames and was completely destroyed. The firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the blaze. Nobody was injured in the incident.

Speaking about the incident, officials with the emergency services said, “The owner noticed that smoke was coming out of his car and realized that his power bank had already caught fire. Despite trying to put it out himself, the flames quickly engulfed the whole car.”

The incident comes a few months after a power bank exploded beside a sleeping Thai woman. The unidentified woman woke up coughing and noticed smoke in her room. Upon noticing that her power bank had exploded, the woman immediately extinguished the fire. Post the incident, the woman took to Facebook to say that the device “wasn’t being charged, it was just lying on the floor” when it exploded. She also warned people to buy devices from “trusted stores only.”
