After more than two months without a jackpot winner in the Powerball drawing, a single ticket matched the winning numbers for the $473.1 million jackpot on Wednesday night.

The Wednesday night Powerball lottery resulted in a big jackpot winner who took home $473.1 million on a single ticket sold in Arizona.

The winning numbers pulled on Wednesday, April 27, were 11, 36, 61, 62, 68, with a red Powerball of 4. The Power Play was 2X.

The winner from Wednesday night will have the option to claim the estimated $473.1 million prize through an annuity that would be paid out over 29 years or a lump sum payment of $283.3 million apiece. Both amounts are before taxes.

The winning ticket was purchased at a QuikTrip convenience store in the Gilbert area of Phoenix. When the winner decides to claim their prize, there’s a chance their identity will remain a secret, according to John Gilliland of the Arizona Lottery.

“Many winners take a few days to get their affairs in order before claiming a prize this big,” Gilliland explained.

“Arizona allows winners of $100,000 or more to claim permanent anonymity, so we may never be able to announce the name of the winner.”

Although one player snagged the $473.1 million jackpot, there were over 1.4 million tickets that won prizes from the Wednesday night drawing, including one instant millionaire.

A player from Indiana hit the Match 5 and won $1 million. If the ticket holder would have hit the Match 5 with a Power Play purchase, they would have won a $2 million prize.

There were 23 players who hit the Match 4 plus the red Powerball and won $50,000 apiece. Meanwhile, only two players were able to hit the Match 4 plus the red Powerball with the 2X Power Play purchase, putting their winnings at $100,000 for the night.

The Powerball jackpot will now reset to $20 million with a cash option of $12 million. The next drawing will be held on Saturday, April 30.

The latest drawing marks the first time someone has hit the jackpot since Feb. 14, when a single ticket from Connecticut won the $185.3 million jackpot.

The Powerball costs $2 per play. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
