Metropcs Communication Inc. (NYSE:PCS) shares surged 6.8 percent to $17.60 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $56.38 million or $0.15 per share compared to $22.66 million or $0.06 per share in the same quarter last year.

Firstenergy Corp. (NYSE:FE) shares surged 5.12 percent to $41.65 in pre-market trading session. The company expects fiscal 2011 earnings to be in the range of $3.20 to $3.50 per share against analysts’ estimation of $3.20 per share.

Avon Products Inc. (NYSE:AVP) shares gained 3.11 percent to $30.49 in pre-market trading session. Its first quarter net profit rose to $143.6 million or $0.33 per share compared to $42.5 million or $0.10 per share in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose 7.3 percent to $2.63 billion.

Tenet Healthcare Corp. (NYSE:THC) shares advanced 1.64 percent to $6.80 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $73 million or $0.14 per share compared to $88 million or $0.17 per share in the same quarter last year.

Molson Coors Brewing Co. (NYSE:TAP) shares slumped 9.34 percent to $43.88 in pre-market trading session. Its first quarter net income declined to $82.9 million or $0.44 per share compared to $104.6 million or $0.56 per share in the same quarter last year.

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) shares plunged 6.55 percent to $106.88 in pre-market trading session.

Sears Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:SHLD) shares plunged 4.97 percent to $80.00 in pre-market trading session. The company announced on late Monday that it expects its first quarter net loss to be in the range of $145 million to $195 million or $1.35 to $1.81 per share.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. (NYSE:CHK) shares declined 3.52 percent to $32.06 in pre-market trading session. The company swung to first quarter net loss of $205 million or $0.32 per share compared to net profit of $732 million or $1.14 per share in the same quarter a year-ago.

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (NASDAQ:CTSH) shares declined 3.3 percent to $79.50 in pre-market trading session. Its first quarter net income rose to $0.71 per share compared to $0.53 per share in the same quarter last year and against analysts’ estimation of $0.63 per share. Revenue rose 42.9 percent to $1.37 billion.

Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) shares declined 1.28 percent to $21.02 in pre-market trading session. The company reported first quarter net income of $2.22 billion or $0.28 per share compared to $2.03 billion or $0.25 per share in the same quarter last year. The company expects fiscal 2011 earnings to be in the range of $2.16 to $2.26 per share on $66 billion to $68 billion revenue. Analysts expect net income of $2.24 per share on revenue of $66.94 billion revenue.
