Prince Charles and Princess Diana tried to convince the public that they were in love shortly after they got engaged. But this pretentious behavior did not last very long.

In an unearthed video, Prince Charles and Princess Diana are posing in front of photographers after their engagement. The royal couple looks happy because they are smiling from ear to ear. But there was also something about the Prince and Princess of Wales that suggested they weren’t really delighted to be with each other.

Prince Charles even had to ask Princess Diana’s permission if he could kiss her hand in public. And after the late royal said yes, that’s when he took his ex-wife’s hand and kissed it. Princess Diana kept the huge smile on her face, but royal fans said that this was such a calculated gesture.

On Instagram, one person said that Prince Charles should hang his head in shame for playing with Princess Diana’s feelings. The Princess Diana fan said that the world has already turned against the future King.

Another person also said that Prince Charles never really loved Princess Diana. He simply wanted to marry a virgin like her, so that he could have children and heirs to the throne.

“How said. In that moment she tells us everything and then smiles. Loved her and miss her… There will never be anyone like her… A beautiful soul and a kind person with empathy for everyone looking for a family,” another person wrote.

But another royal fan said that Prince Charles isn’t the only person to be blamed in their relationship.

“They were both [expletive] to marry. They were immature, too young… The royal family was wrong about them… Charles needed more time to find a compatible woman for him and then he could have forgotten Camilla for good… And maybe Diana could have had a better life with someone else,” the royal fan stated.
