Meghan Markle is one of the most searched personalities in Google Search in 2017.

Markle's high-profile romance with Prince Harry has made the "Suits" star even more popular. According to The Spec, Markle is the most-searched-for actor in the world. This is not surprising considering her influence in fashion dubbed as Meghan Effect.

Whatever Markle wears it immediately runs out in the market. According to several sources, Markle Effect is as potent as Kate Middleton's Kate Effect.

In fact, the brands that Markle chose to wear on her public appearances are struggling to meet the demands. "The interest in the brand has been incredible," Strathberry spokesperson Leeanne Hundleby said after Markle was seen with their bag on her first royal engagement. "The phones began ringing constantly and our visitor numbers on our website were up by around 5000 percent!"

LINE The Label is also overwhelmed with the huge orders they received after the "Horrible Bosses" star wore their white wrap-style coat during her official engagement photo call with Prince Harry on Nov. 27. The $750 double-faced wool coat "was gone in seconds" after the world saw Markle in it.

"We are now dealing with the aftermath because everyone is trying to get it, but I don't want 10,000 white coats out there – it has to stay exclusive," said John Muscat, president and co-founder of the brand.

Markle's Meghan Effect started when she made her first public appearance with Prince Harry at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto in September. The actress sported a white button-down shirt, ripped jeans, flat shoes and a tote. All of the items were gone just minutes after she was photographed in it.

Misha Nonoo, Markle's friend who designed the white top she wore at the Invictus Game also confessed that it helped a lot in her brand. "I had no idea [Markle] was going to wear it," Nonoo said. "It was a beautiful surprise and I was touched. The exposure has been incredible."

Aside from Markle, former NBC "Today" show host Matt Lauer is the most-searched-for person and he is among the first three in the top five who was in the news due to sexual misconduct allegations, The Spec added. Meanwhile, the top search term is Hurricane Irma which devastated Florida in September.
