Prince Harry's upbringing influenced him and Meghan Markle's decision to move Archie to Canada.

In January, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. They made the bombshell announcement just days after they returned from Canada where they spent their Christmas holiday with their son Archie. When they returned to the U.K., they arrived sans Archie.

Following their announcement, Prince Harry and Markle flew back to Canada to reunite with their child. An insider told Us Weekly, that their decision to move Archie to Canada had something to do with Prince Harry’s upbringing. The duke reportedly wanted to give his son a life that is different from what he had in the palace.

“He wants to shield his son from the negativity and tension he would’ve been exposed to back in England,” an insider said.

A second source said that Prince Harry “knows what it’s like to grow up in the spotlight, and he wants to give Archie the most normal upbringing possible.”

A few weeks ago, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the U.K. again to carry out their final engagements as working royals. On March 9, they joined Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton for the Commonwealth Day service. However, their reunion wasn’t as friendly as what royal fans expected.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were accused of snubbing Prince Harry and Markle. Prince William and Middleton talked to Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex when they arrived on their seats. However, they barely acknowledged Prince Harry and Markle who visibly greeted them. Markle was even seen waving at them.

Body language expert Bianca Cobb said that Prince Harry was a “little uneasy” during the outing. In contrast, his wife Markle was “more relaxed.” She also noted that there was “zero acknowledgment” from Middleton’s end when the future queen saw the Sussexes.

“When you compare Harry and Meghan’s interaction with William and Kate to their interactions with the other people around them, it gives you a sense of, why would it be different and I think a natural conclusion would be, something is up. Kate had zero acknowledgement when taking her seat near Harry and Meghan,” Cobb said.
