Ubisoft announced the remake, which is being developed by Ubisoft Pune and Mumbai, last September 2020. The much-awaited remake was initially scheduled to launch in January 2021. However, at the end of 2020, Ubisoft postponed its release to March 2021.

By February, the gaming studio announced another delay in the game's release, and this time, it did not reveal its plans to launch the remake.

Unfortunately, the video game company also did not offer any other details about the "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake" as part of its most recent announcement. The developers say that more information would be revealed as soon as they are ready.

During the game's announcement, Ubisoft noted that compared to the original game released in 2003, the upcoming remake would feature visual enhancements and improved graphical assets.

It also revealed that the game would showcase overhauled combat controls and a new camera. There are also additional motion-capture and voice recordings created for the upcoming game, according to the studio.

"Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake" will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game is also playable on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility.
