Prince William and Kate Middleton are open to sending their son to a boarding school if he wants to but will not pressure him.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are already planning for their eldest son's education. In fact, they have already checked out some boarding schools in case Prince George wants to attend one.

"Kate and William are open to sending George to boarding school in the future and have already checked out a few, but they feel 8 is a little young and want to wait until he’s slightly older," an unnamed source told Us Weekly.

"George going to school is a decision the Cambridges will make as a family. They’d never force George to go unless he wants to and they feel it’s right."

The 8-year-old royal has reportedly heard his parents' stories about boarding school and found it "super fun." The insider added that the future king is "keen" on the idea of going to school away from home.

"He’s settled at St Thomas’ Battersea and has lots of friends there," the tipster said. Prince George has been attending the school since 2017 and he is "one of the most popular boys in the class," according to the insider.

Princess Charlotte joined her older brother at St. Thomas's Battersea in London in 2019. She was very excited at the time. However, they switched to homeschooling in 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Just recently, another insider said the future king and queen consort have a modern approach to raising Prince George. They are strict but fair and want their kids to learn how to "express their emotions and ask questions to enable them to grow up as healthy adults."

"The royals are renowned for being ‘stiff upper lip,’ but William and Kate have a more modern approach to parenting and are moving away from that mentality," the anonymous insider told Us Weekly. "Open communication is key for them. … [But they] set boundaries and have rules in place."

The third-in-line to the throne celebrated his 8th birthday on July 22. The Queen Zoomed with Prince George to wish him a happy birthday and also sent him a surprise gift. According to a source, Prince George loves his great-grandmother so much.
