Prince William and Kate Middleton use secret code names when traveling to protect their privacy.

Kara Godfrey, a journalist for Express, revealed that the royal couple uses the initials DC during their overseas and domestic trips. DC is the initials used for Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, in the same way, that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s secret initials are DS for Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But Middleton also goes by the secret code name of Daphne Clark, and Prince William travels with the fake name Danny Collins. Using different names protects them from traveling, and it is an effective way to ensure that their security team won’t also be identified.

Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth II’s security service in the United States reportedly calls her Kittyhawk. In the event of Her Majesty’s death, “Operation London Bridge” is the codename that will be used to refer to their plans on what to do after her demise.

Prince Harry and Markle are called David Stevens and Davina Scott when traveling abroad. A source told the Daily Star that using the royal’s real names is far too risky especially when it lands in the wrong hands.

“They get given code names but they are changed regularly for obvious reasons,” the source said.

In related news, Middleton just attended her first royal engagement since giving birth to Prince Louis on April 23. Following her maternity leave, the Duchess of Cambridge visited a school in London. She also went to a recreation ground in Paddington, London, where she got her hands dirty with gardening.

Middleton sported a new hairstyle to her recent engagement. She also wore a casual attire which consisted of her olive green sweater, printed silk Joseph blouse, matching jacket by the Swedish brand Fjällräven, and brown biker skinny jeans by Zara. The mom of three also re-wore her trusty tassel boots from years ago during the official visit.

Even though Middleton had a six-month maternity leave, royal fans didn’t miss her completely. After all, she attended the Trooping the Colour, joined Markle at the Wimbledon and was also photographed at equestrian events and polo matches.
