Prince William was reportedly furious with his uncle, Prince Edward, years ago due to a particular incident.

In 2001, Prince Edward started a royal feud that infuriated Prince Charles and Prince William. It happened when the Duke of Cambridge headed off to the University of St. Andrews.

The Earl of Wessex’s TV production company Ardent was caught following the royal prince despite the privacy arrangement in place for the second in line to the throne. According to royal expert Robert Jobson, Ardent was desperate at the time.

“The programme was understood to be keeping Ardent afloat,” Jobson wrote in his 2006 book “William’s Princess.” “Desperate times seem to have called for desperate measures for Prince Edward.”

The move did not sit well with the royal family. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge was very upset.

“William was furious,” Jobson continued. “He felt his uncle’s company’s actions had threatened to undermine the carefully nurtured relationship between St James’s Palace and the media, and in turn that it would threaten the entente cordiale between him and the press.”

Meanwhile, the Prince of Wales reportedly went “ballistic” after learning about it. Katie Nicholl claimed in her book, “William and Harry,” that the heir apparent called his younger brother and was so angry and his voice was so loud it could be heard in the room adjacent.

Andrew Neil told Nicholl that it was the duke’s “idiot uncle” who broke the royal embargo. The crew allegedly took some students for curries to get information about Prince William.

The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge’s press secretary, Mark Bolland, confirmed that the royals was very unhappy about the incident. Also, Prince Edward was told that he could not represent the royal family with commercial interests.

“As far as Charles was concerned, the incident, for which Edward publicly apologized, only served to highlight his argument that members of the royal family could not pursue independent careers and also carry out royal duties,” the royal biographer added.

Things are already good between Prince William and Prince Edward. Earlier this year, they were spotted greeting each other during the Commonwealth Day Service. However, on the same sighting, Prince William and Kate Middleton were accused of snubbing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle because they didn’t acknowledge the latter.
