Prince William and Prince Harry have been accused of always giving each other a hard time in public. However, this observation doesn’t have anything to do with their alleged feud.

Royal commentator Kaitlin Menza told the “Royally Obsessed” podcast that the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex love making jokes about each other’s suffering during their interviews. For instance, the future king welcomed his younger brother to the sleep deprivation society after his son’s birth.

“I remember when Princess Charlotte was born and Harry was at an event right after the birth and they asked him, ‘Oh, are you excited for the niece?’ He made some joke about, ‘Oh, I’m so glad William has a girl because girls are much more trouble’ or ‘I’m so excited to watch my brother suffer,’” she said.

Menza said that she noticed the royal siblings love to make jokes about the other brother suffering. Prince William and Prince Harry seem to always want to give each other a hard time. What they usually do is called a public brother-rubbing, but Menza said that it usually involves the corniest jokes.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement, Prince William once again threw a jibe at the Duke of Sussex when he said that he’s so grateful he would finally stay out of his fridge.

But the teasing between the royal siblings is not always harmless. There was one time wherein Prince William grew sick of Prince Harry’s jokes about his thinning hair.

Last year, Express reported that the dad of three consulted with Richard Ward, Kate Middleton’s hairdresser, before shaving off all of his hair. A source close to the hairdresser said that it was Ward’s staff Joey that went to the palace to give the royal a haircut.

“The prince got sick of being teased by Harry about going bald and this seemed like a practical solution – and one that should stop all the digs too,” the hairdresser said.
