Princess Charlotte would have been Princess Diana’s favorite grandchild.

If Princess Diana were alive, she would have turned 58 years old on Monday. And if she were with the royal family today, her favorite among Prince William and Prince Harry’s kids would have been Princess Charlotte.

“She would have loved being a grandmother and particularly would have doted on Charlotte because she always wanted a daughter and that wasn’t to be,” former press secretary Dickie Arbiter said.

“She was great with children and would have been an absolutely brilliant grandmother. She would have been there all the time, she would have spoiled them rotten. She would have been very hands-on with the grandchildren.”

Princess Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe agreed with Arbiter’s opinion. Wharfe said that the late Princess of Wales was a “family-oriented person” who always wanted a daughter. Thus, she would definitely love having a granddaughter.

Aside from being a girl, Princess Diana would definitely enjoy Princess Charlotte’s presence because the young royal inherited her passion for dancing. In 2018, Prince William told Malta’s leader Joseph Muscat and his wife Michelle Muscat during the Commonwealth Day celebration that his daughter “loves dancing.”

On July 10, 2018, just months after Prince William shared Princess Charlotte’s love for dancing, the little princess showed off her dance moves at the Buckingham Palace window while waiting for the celebration of the RAF centenary.

Kate Middleton and Prince William’s daughter was only staring in the window looking bored. However, when she heard the music, she started to sway her body which entertained the spectators.

Wharfe believed that if Princess Diana were alive, she would have glorified the fact that her sons Prince William and Prince Harry have healthy children. She would also enjoy them without any restraints.

Princess Diana was a very hands-on mom to her children. In fact, the Duke of Cambridge and Duke of Sussex were always on her mind.

In related news, Queen Elizabeth II couldn’t stand Princess Diana due to their different perspectives about being a royal. Also, the People’s Princess was becoming more and more popular and it didn’t sit well with the monarch.
