Princess Diana Had A Unique Sense Of Fashion: See Most Gorgeous Outfits
Princess Diana was one of the most admired fashion icons of her time. Even after her death, the late Princess of Wales’ biggest fashion risks and statements continued to dominate the world.
Just recently, one publication compiled a series of throwback photos of Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom wearing some of her most unique fashion pieces. Some of her favorite designers were Catherine Walker, Stephen Jones, Bruce Oldfield and Graham Smith.
Eleri Lynn, the curator of “Diana: Her Fashion Story,” said that after her death, Princess Diana continued to communicate through the different clothes that she wore.
“It is very surprising how little footage there exists of the Princess actually speaking. We all have a sense of what we think she was like, and yet so much of it comes from still photographs, and a large part of that idea is communicated through the different clothes that she wear,” Lynn said.
When Princess Diana was still alive, she stunned in an orange kimono during her trip to Kyoto, Japan. She paired the floral printed attire with her orange hat during her visit to the Nijo Castle in May 1986. Less than a year later, the Princess of Wales donned a military-style suit designed by Walker and a matching hat designed by Smith.
In 1989, Prince Charles’ ex-wife stepped out in a gingham suit designed by Walker when she attended the Braemar games in Scotland. In the same year, the mom of two flew to Dubai for an official engagement. While there, she was photographed in a blue and white suit that she paired with a blue and white turban hat.
When Prince William was still a young boy, he was photographed with his mom at the christening of one of Princess Diana’s nieces. The late princess made a fashion statement when she her red and black paired plaid coat with her black and white plaid skirt.
Princess Diana also went casual when she took a stroll on the grounds of Guards Polo Club with Princess William. Princess Diana paired her jeans with a white balloon shirt, black jacket and brown boots.
