Princess Diana and Prince Charles did not look like two people in love in one photo.

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a fairytale-like wedding but an unhappy marriage. Their union ended in divorce, with Prince Charles eventually marrying Camilla Parker Bowles years after Princess Diana died from a car crash. Many were convinced that the heir apparent had always loved Camilla.

A photo of Prince Charles and Princess Diana was shared on Instagram. In the snap, they are seated on the same couch, but they are visibly distant from each other. One can sit in the middle of the couple due to the gap.

In the caption, the royal fan who shared the photo shared what Countess Raine Spencer said about Princess Diana and Prince Charles.

“They don't look to me like two people in love. They have different bedrooms, and she never seems to want to touch him,” Princess Diana’s stepmother said.

“When he says: ‘Give me a kiss’, she does not respond. She has no artistic side to match his, which is a further gulf.”

Royal followers who read the caption defended Princess Diana and questioned Countess Raine. According to them, Prince Charles let down Princess Diana, so it was understandable if she felt that way toward her husband. Others said that Prince Charles didn’t deserve the late People’s Princess.

On the online forum site Quora, one netizen asked if Princess Diana really had a chance with the royal family. Many believed that she did not stand a chance because she was only chosen for one purpose and that’s to give the future king an heir and a spare. Also, some believed that Prince Charles married her because she was a virgin.

A different user opined that Princess Diana didn’t have a chance because she was dishonest. The online user insisted that Princess Diana pretended to have the same interest as Prince Charles. The latter did not know that she hated everything he was interested in, so their marriage did not work.

In related news, Camilla and Prince Charles just visited New Zealand. However, the Duchess of Cornwall cut her trip short and decided not to join the future king in Tuvalu.
