Princess Diana could have shown her support to the royal family because of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, if only she were still alive.

When the Princess of Wales was still alive, she didn’t always get along well with the members of Prince Charles’ family. In fact, she and Prince Charles didn’t also have a peaceful relationship.

But following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding last year, Princess Diana would’ve been proud of the couple and the royal family for allowing them to tie the knot.

While speaking with Daily Mail, Princess Diana’s former protection officer, Ken Wharfe, said, “I can see Diana putting two fingers up to the monarchy on the strength of that one, saying, ‘This is fantastic, this is the future of his family, this is the way it has to be,’” he said.

Several years ago, the Royal Family was quite accepting of Princess Diana when she and Prince Charles started dating each other. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Prince Charles’ younger siblings saw the Princess of Wales as a fresh-faced young girl who had tons of potential.

But it didn’t take very long before the Royal Family changed their mind about the late Princess. It was revealed that Princess Diana was actually very troubled and manipulative.

In the book “Prince Charles: The Passion And Paradoxes Of An Improbable Life,” royal historian Sally Bedell Smith said that Princess Diana was such an emotional wreck. She also struggled with eating disorders, paranoia, and suicidal tendencies.

Years after tying the knot, Princess Diana and Prince Charles tried to keep their separation a secret from the public. But it eventually became known because of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew’s separation.

The Queen was also the one who encouraged Princess Diana and Prince Charles to push through with their divorce in 1996 after Prince William and Prince Harry’s mom gave an interview to Martin Bashir for Panorama.
