The fall 2019 TV season kicks into high gear this week, and Fox is starting it off tonight with the premiere of its new serial killer series, “Prodigal Son.”

Criminal psychologist Malcolm Bright, who grew up with a serial killer for a father, is at the center of the show. The audience follows along as Bright works with the NYPD to solve crimes and put killers behind bars.

Before the series premieres on Monday, meet the “Prodigal Son” cast, as well as the official synopses of the characters they play, right here:

Tom Payne (“The Walking Dead,” “Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day”) stars as Malcolm Bright, “the best criminal psychologist around.”

Michael Sheen (“Good Omens,” “Masters of Sex”) stars as Bright’s sociopathic and murderous father, Dr. Martin Whitly.

Bellamy Young (“Scandal,” “Criminal Minds”) stars as Bright’s mother, Jessica Whitly, “an elegant and WASPy New Yorker.”

Lou Diamond Phillips (“Longmire,” “Blue Bloods”) stars as Bright’s longtime mentor, NYPD Detective Gil Arroyo.

Halston Sage (“The Orville,” “How to Rock”) stars as Bright’s sister, Ainsley Whitly, “a TV journalist who wishes her brother would ‘take a break from murder’ and have a normal life.”

Aurora Perrineau (“Truth or Dare,” “Jem and the Holograms”) stars as Detective Dani Powell, “a headstrong no-nonsense cop who quickly becomes impressed with Bright’s work.”

Frank Harts (“The Path,” “Billions”) stars as Detective JT Tarmel, “a born-and-bred New Yorker who questions whether Bright is a psychopath himself.”

Keiko Agena (“Gilmore Girls,” “13 Reasons Why”) stars as the in-house medical examiner, Edrisa Tanaka.

“Prodigal Son” premieres on Fox on Monday at 9 p.m. EDT, right after the Season 3 premiere of “9-1-1.”
