  • "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" revealed as next game for free on PS Plus
  • "Star Wars: Battlefront 2" is not spared from issues
  • PS Plus tries to make up for a lackluster May free game offering

Another game sequel will be the other free game for PlayStation Plus this June. After releasing "Call of Duty: WWII," "Star Wars: Battlefront II" was announced as the other game available for folks subscribed to the gaming service. One thing both games have in common that both have not been criticism from controversy.

The "Star Wars: Battlefront II" announcement was made on Twitter by @PlayStation. The sequel from Electronic Arts (EA) saw some fans boycotting the game, particularly on loot boxes. The game weathered the storm a bit, thanks to numerous updates and added content. The game originally came out in 2017 but EA launched a "Celebration Edition" just last year. The latest update for "Star Wars: Battlefront II" was "The Rise of Skywalker" update which saw the coming of new hero characters to the game.

Regardless of its track records, the two new PS Plus free game offerings should make up for a poor May lineup. Not too many were thrilled with the site's offered games which were "Farming Simulator" and "Cities: Skyline." The reception was so bad that many even launched a petition, requesting Sony to change their PS Play free games offering. The company stayed the course but appears to be making amends with the two popular offerings instead.

Expectations were high when "Call of Duty: WWII" was announced as the free game for June. That offer went live last May 26 and most were eager to know what the second game was. In a previous post, there were speculations of that game possibly being "Marvel's Spider-Man." That was the assumption of most after seeing the game crop up on social media with a PS Plus logo on the side.

With most left with nothing to do at home, playing video games has become a norm. For those who don't own a PS Plus account, PS4 owners can sign up now and engage in multiplayer games. The subscription is priced at $9.99 per month although discounts are offered for those who want to avail of other packages. That includes $24.99 for three months and $59.99 for a year. New subscribers can enjoy the service for free for the first two weeks.
