A great song and a great soundtrack accompanying a movie can be as powerful as the film itself. Sometimes, the music takes on a life of its own -- look at “Let It Go” and “Happy” from last year -- and the Oscars 2015 features several hit songs that have had mainstream appeal. For your listening pleasure, we have created an 87th Academy Awards playlist including the best song and best original score nominees.

The 2015 Oscars has five best song nominees. “Everything Is Awesome” (“The Lego Movie”), “Glory” (“Selma”), “Grateful”(“Beyond the Lights”), “I'm Not Gonna Miss You” (“Glenn Campbell...I'll Be Me”) and “Lost Stars” (“Begin Again”). IBT's Monica Castillo predicts a “Glory” victory, as the song has also taken home a Golden Globe and a Critics Choice award. Indiewire is in agreement about “Glory” while The Hollywood Reporter is predicting a win for “I'm Not Gonna Miss You.” “Glory” is also the oddsmakers favorite, according to Billboard.

Best original score is where the excitement is for the 2015 Oscars. Alexandre Desplat has two nominated scores (“The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “The Imitation Game”), Hans Zimmer is nominated for “Interstellar,” Gary Yershon for “Mr. Turner” and Jóhann Jóhannsson for “The Theory of Everything.” Despite receiving eight nominations -- including scores for “Philomena,” “Argo” and “Fantastic Mr. Fox” -- Desplat has never won an Oscar. Zimmer has created scores for “Inception” and“The Dark Knight,” but his sole Oscar win was in 1995 for “The Lion King.”

Castillo believes it is a two-score race between Desplat's “Imitation Game” and Jóhannsson. THR is also predicting a win for Jóhannsson and his score is the oddsmakers' favorite as well. Indiewire believes the “Grand Budapest” score will win the Oscar.

The Oscars 2015 broadcast from the Dolby Theater will include special performances by Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson, Anna Kendrick and Jack Black. Tegan and Sara will be joined by the Lonely Island to perform “Everything Is Awesome,” Common and John Legend will sing “Glory,” Tim McGraw will perform “I'm Not Gonna Miss You,” Adam Levine performs “Lost Stars” and Rita Ora will sing “Grateful.”
