Prince Philip has been sparking concerns among royal fans after it was revealed that he’s in poor health.

On the “Royals” podcast, royal commentator Angela Mollard said that 2020 could be another annus horribilis for Queen Elizabeth because of her husband’s deteriorating health, among many other issues within the royal family.

“I think this could be annus horribilis part 2, don’t you? 1992 was the last time she claimed it was her worst year. Of course, three of her children separated, there was the Windsor Castle fire, all sorts of things happened that year. She’s got Prince Andrew’s embroilment with the Jeffrey Epstein case, she’s got the management of Harry and Meghan exiting the Royal Family, she’s got her own husband’s poor health and she’s got Beatrice’s wedding,” she said.

Four months from now, the Duke of Edinburgh will be turning 99 years old. He has been spending most of his retirement days in Sandringham, which is far from his wife and children.

According to Express, since Prince Philip is already very old, it is possible that he will skip Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding on May 29. The dad of four was able to attend Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie’s respective weddings in 2018 when he was just 97 years old.

But just a few days before Christmas, Prince Philip was rushed to the hospital to seek treatment for a pre-existing condition. Following his confinement, the Queen’s husband stepped out in public looking frail and exhausted.

Shortly after, rumors swirled that he had died. However, the rumors were proven to be incorrect after Prince Philip stepped out in public with Princess Anne. Since then, the Duke of Edinburgh has not been seen in public and there has not been any update regarding his health.

Meanwhile, royal expert Robert Jobson said that Prince Philip will undoubtedly attend his granddaughter’s wedding if his health permits it.

“The Duke of Edinburgh, who will be 99 in June, will undoubtedly attend the wedding if his health permits as he did Eugenie's, despite having retired,” he told Express.
