Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip, Kate Middleton and Prince William rarely hold hands in public with their respective partners, but the rare moments of them showing off PDA have been captured by cameras.

The royal family has a strict protocol when it comes to public displays of affection. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are very tactile, but most members of the Firm, especially the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very discreet.

Hello! compiled several photos of the royal family showing PDA, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. Check it out below.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip

Her Majesty deemed it unprofessional to display one’s affection publicly. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip rarely hold hands, but one of their special moments was captured in the snap below. The 97-year-old royal helped his wife as she stepped down at St. Paul’s Cathedral in 2015 after attending the Service of Commemoration.

Prince William and Middleton

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are among the generation of the young royals. Although they are close to age to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince William and Middleton aren’t as tactile as the former couple.

They don’t hold hands frequently, but when they do, the world notices it immediately. In this photo, Prince William and Middleton hold hands after Princess Charlotte’s birth. They were also seen holding hands when they watched swimming in Glasgow for the 20th Commonwealth Games.

Prince William and Middleton also held each other’s hands when they joined the royal family on their Christmas walk in 2017. However, they didn’t do the same last Christmas.

Prince Charles and Camilla

Prince Charles and Camilla aren’t as discreet as Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, but the couple is not as tactile as Prince Harry and Markle. In this photo, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall are all smiles, with Prince Charles assisting by holding his wife’s hand as they walked along the rocky road.

The couple has actually been seen holding hands on different occasions, as shown in the photos below.

Prince Edward and Sophie

Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, Countess of Sussex, are among the members of the royal family who are very discreet. However, in 2001, the couple was photographed holding hands while walking as they made their way to a party in London.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank

On Dec. 25, Princess Eugenie joined the royal family for the first time in their annual Christmas Day service with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. The couple, who just wed in October, were all smiles as they walked together while holding each other’s hands.
