Rapper Ice Cube has made a short film professing his love for the Eames House in his hometown Los Angeles.

Fascinated by the resourcefulness of Charles and Alexandra Ray Eames, the husband and wife design team, who built the house from off-the-shelf-parts, Ice Cube pays tribute to The Eames House situated in Pacific Palisades in the video made for Pacific Standard Time: Art in LA 1945-1980. In the video, Ice Cube says that before his seminal rap band NWA broke big, I studied architectural drafting. Ice Cube once helped in forming the gangsta-rap pioneers NWA in the 1980s and has since settled into a more conventional show-business career.

Ice Cube says Charles and Alexandra Eames, who built the Eames House in the 1940s, was doing mash-ups before mash-ups even existed. He adds: The Eames made structure and nature one. This is going green 1949 style, bitch. Believe that.
