After learning about the death of Bethenny Frankel’s ex-boyfriend Dennis Shields, “Real Housewives of New York City” fans weren’t happy about the Twitter post Carole Radziwill shared addressing the death of her frenemy’s former love.

“RHONY” Season 10 documented the unraveling of Carole and Bethenny’s friendship causing a division among fans who chose between Team Bethenny and Team Carole. After Carole shared a tweet on Friday addressing Shields’ passing, Team Bethenny sprung into attack mode.

“I just heard the sad news about Dennis. He was a good man. My condolences to all his family and friends. So tragic,” Carole tweeted on Friday.

However, some fans felt the Emmy winning journalist was using the tweet as a way to take a jab at Bethenny during a vulnerable moment. “I suppose Carole doesn’t HAVE to mention @Bethenny but it would make more sense to do so than posting a condolence on Twitter to people she’s not connected to in any way other than through the ‘friend’ she failed to mention in her tweet,” one fan wrote.

“Carol Radziwill you bitter old lemon. Can’t even say it so I’ll say it for you. Condolences to @Bethennyfrankel from the entire world,” another angry fan tweeted.

Fans also took their anger over to Instagram and slammed Carole for sharing a photo of herself, Dorinda Medley and Caroline Stanbury enjoying themselves at dinner.

“You had a real friend that needs you and you can’t even fake caring after she tried everything to mend a friendship. Your a shallow, pitiful thing. Love watching you pretend to take the high road then berate Bethenny to other’s with the self absorbed comments and victim talk it was the laugh of the night [sic],” one individual wrote.

Although Bethenny initially remained silent following Shields’ death, she finally broke her silence on Monday. The Skinnygirl founder shared a photo of her ex-boyfriend sleeping alongside her late dog Cookie. “Rest In Peace my sweet babies who gave me endless unconditional love. #nowandforever,” she captioned the photo.

Shields, who began dating Bethenny on and off in 2016, was pronounced dead in his New York City apartment on Friday, according to People. Although the NYPD is still investigating, a possible overdose is suspected. At the time of his death, the 51-year-old was estranged from his wife Jill Shields, with whom he shared four children.
