Apollo Nida, the ex-husband of former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" reality star Phaedra Parks, has been released from prison and is currently living at a halfway house after serving five years of his sentence for fraud charges, E! Online reports.

After being released from prison, Nida was seen with his fiancée, Sherien Almufti, whom he met while behind bars. According to The Blast, the two were photographed on Sunday in Philadelphia, where she works as a real estate agent.

Almufti wrote on social media about Nida in 2017, defending him by writing, “You have been misunderstood, judged and ridiculed but you never allowed it to bring you down. The strength you have gives me life. You’re such an amazing person inside and out. One day the world will see that! In the meantime, stay prayed up, stay strong and keep pushing.”

She added, “Love you so much, can’t wait for the day we reunite, it’s going to be magical!”

It is unclear whether or not Nida has had contact with Parks, with whom he shares two boys with, Dylan and Ayden. Nida and Parks ended their five-year marriage in 2017. The two had previously starred on the Bravo TV series together.

In 2014, Nida pleaded guilty to a fraud scheme that prosecutors said resulted in the loss of over $2 million from more than 50 people over a four-year period.

After his original sentencing, his attorney, Thomas D. Bever, told E! News, "On behalf of my client Apollo, right now he feels remorse. He thought the judge was fair, and accepts his sentence, although he was hoping it would be less. Apollo is elated that this proceeding is past him and is no longer handing [sic] over his head...He's OK, and will get through this."

Nida is expected to remain in a halfway house in Philadelphia until October.
