At the white-hot center of New York Fashion Week, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty collection sizzled on Tuesday night. It was, perhaps, the only female performance this summer more focused on female empowerment than Rihanna’s runway was Lizzo’s slam dunk version of “Truth Hurts” and “Good As Hell” at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards. So it seems we are not the only ones wondering about a possible dream collaboration of Lizzo and RiRi after she takes a breather from her fashion side gig.

When Entertainment Tonight asked Rihanna about a possible collaboration, the usually taciturn singer was effusive in her praise of Lizzo.

"Gosh, I love Lizzo. She's so [expletive]," Rihanna said. "I would collaborate with her on the lights for this interview right now, like Lizzo is so [expletive].”

For her part, Lizzo revealed after the VMAs that she and Rihanna have a great DM connection, including Rihanna praising the “Cuz I Love You” singer’s performance. There’s still time for the pair to work on new tracks before the long-rumored December release of Rihanna’s new album.

Meanwhile, Rihanna linked Lizzo to her Fenty brand: "She is everything that Savage stands for. A confident woman, no matter what size, color, shape. Your attitude is what makes you savage. It's the confidence that you have in yourself and it's the confidence that you can give off to people who look like you and feel like you and those are the people that identify with the brand."

As noted by The Daily Beast, the also-fierce Cara Delevingne, a longtime friend of Rihanna, joined Gigi and Bella Hadid on the runway at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, one-fifth of which is owned by Jay-Z, Rihanna’s mentor.

The Savage x Fenty show will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video beginning Sept. 20. As a result, Rihanna mirrored Madonna’s recent announcement that cell phones are not allowed in the venue, presumably to prevent the advance release of photos.
