“Riverdale” actor KJ Apa, who plays Archie Andrews on the show, is about to enter fatherhood as he and his girlfriend Clara Berry are expecting their first child together.

The 23-year-old actor and the 27-year-old model took to Instagram Wednesday to announce the news to their fans on the photo-sharing platform.

Apa shared a snap of the two of them comfortably resting on a couch. However, Berry’s top was rolled up to intentionally show off her growing belly. The snap did not come with a caption.

Berry also proudly showcased her baby bump in a series of snaps from the maternity shoot she did on her own Instagram account. In the comments section, Apa wrote, “She’s pregnant btw.” And Berry responded, “We are.”

Many of Apa’s co-stars quickly expressed their congratulatory messages for the couple on social media.

Camila Mendes, who portrays Veronica Lodge in the series, wrote, “Another neném on the way.” On the other hand, Betty Cooper actress Lili Reinhart commented three red heart emoji.

Vanessa Morgan (Toni Topaz) and Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom) also reacted positively to the couple’s announcement.

This would be the first child for both Apa and Berry, as per Page Six. And the news comes more than a year after they confirmed their romantic relationship in February 2020.

Ahead of their admission, Apa teased in a December 2019 interview with WIRED that he was “in love.” However, he chose to not drop his girlfriend’s name at the time. But many fans already speculated that it could none other than be Berry as Apa was spotted liking all her Instagram posts back then.

On Berry’s 27th birthday in December, Apa called the French model his “love” while greeting her on her special day. He shared a mirror selfie of the two of them in his Instagram Story and captioned it, “Happy birthday my love,” as per People.

The two have been inseparable since then, with Apa regularly sharing pictures of them together on his social media accounts. He even revealed in February of this year that his “screensaver” was a comical photo of his girlfriend, according to J-14 Magazine.
