RM is the leader of BTS and is also one of the rappers in the group. He has an estimated net worth of $20 million. Here’s how he spends his massive fortune.

Born Kim Namjoon, RM is considered the leader of the Bangtan Boys or BTS, one of the most popular boy bands today. Their fame has reached international fandom. Albums after albums have topped the charts. Clearly, there is no stopping the rise of BTS and the skyrocketing wealth of the members.

Earnings of the groups are divided equally among the seven members. In 2019, BTS earned $170 million. Between June 2019 to June 2020, the South Korean boy band made $50 million, with RM and the rest of the members receiving around $7 million each. Even the ongoing pandemic did not make a dent in the group’s earnings and popularity.

The members’ bank accounts have increased after their music label, Big Hit Entertainment, went public. RM and the other members were given 68,385 shares before entering the IPO. At the end of its first trading day, Big Hit recorded $4.1 billion market cap, per Celebrity Net Worth.

A lot of artists when handed millions at such a young age try to live life to the fullest, often splurging on luxurious things such as cars. But BTS members still live within their means and invest in properties.

RM acquired an apartment in the ultra-exclusive Hannam the Hill located in Hannam-dong, Seoul, a report from AllKPop revealed. The property carries a price tag of $4 million which he paid for in cash. Celebrities often buy properties in exclusive and luxurious areas because it gives them privacy. Also, the value of apartments in such areas tends to rise as time goes by, so it makes sense to invest in them. Hannam the Hill offers parks, walking trails, a swimming pool and golf course to the community, aside from top-notch security.

The Ilsan-gu, Goyang native makes money from writing songs. According to Seventeen, he has credits for over 130 songs, including a Korean soundtrack for the movie “Fantastic Four.” Should the BTS take on a hiatus due to the impending mandatory military service among South Korean men, RM will still have a source of income writing and producing songs. Other members such as J-Hope had an estimated net worth of $12 million before Big Hit went public. Now, each member has a fortune of at least $20 million.
