  • Rumors have it that the game might have a remastered version
  • New leak: "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered is in development but was later taken down

A massive set of information about "Grand Theft Auto 6" was recently revealed and along with it came out some details that "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered is in the works and could release very soon.

The interesting set of information came from a recent post on 4chan AMA, which was later taken down. A Reddit user, however, was able to share the details on the platform. Based on the leak, Rockstar Games is currently working on "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered. The gaming studio is apparently planning to release the alleged remaster ahead of the official launch of “GTA 6.”

While the leak did not specifically reveal the precise release date of "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered, it did mention that "GTA 6" would launch in October 2023. Gamerant speculated that this could mean the game could launch a couple of years from now. Unfortunately, the insider did not provide any proof to back up the claims.

So, with all other leaks, fans should temper their expectations about "Red Dead Redemption" Remastered until Rockstar Games officially announced it. Interestingly, this is not the first time that fans heard rumors related to the game. Last year, several sites reported about the game being listed on Amazon, with the complete price details and a Dec. 10, 2020 release date.

According to the listing, the remastered version retails at $49.94. It will be reportedly playable on Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. Obviously, the listing did not pan out, but fans also heard rumors “Red Dead Redemption” would have a Switch version.

"Red Dead Redemption" was launched in 2010, sold millions of copies, received critical acclaim, and won awards. Its sequel, "Red Dead Redemption 2," is also a raving success, which offered better visuals and impeccable peon-world realism. With some gamers discovering the series through its sequel, many wonder if Rockstar Games ever plans to make the remaster for the first title.

It’s been over a decade since the game was released, and, surprisingly, Rockstar Games has not yet launched its remastered version considering its popularity and success. "Red Dead Redemption" is playable on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and was never released on PC. Through PlayStation Now streaming service and Xbox backward compatibility, the game becomes available to modern consoles.
