Samsung has finally unveiled its newest tablet, the Galaxy S6 Lite.

Korean tech giant Samsung continues to release devices other than its latest flagships. Now, the company has unveiled its newest Android tablet, the budget-friendly and S Pen-supporting Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

The new device is a lighter version of the more premium Galaxy Tab S6, XDA Developers noted. It does not have all the bells and whistles that its more expensive counterpart has, but is expected to sell for a significantly lower price that will appeal to those who can't afford the older model. Here's a quick look at the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite's specs:

Innards

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is powered by Samsung's own Exynos 9611 SoC, an overclocked version of the Exynos 9610. This is the same SoC that powers many of the Korean giant's devices, which includes the Galaxy A50s, Galaxy A51, Galaxy M30s, Galaxy M31, and the Galaxy M21 smartphone.

This processor is backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Those who want more storage can expand it up to 1TB with the use of a microSD card.

Display

The new tablet features a 10.4-inch display with 2,000 x 1,200 pixel resolution. Instead of using AMOLED for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, however, Samsung opted to use a TFT display which doesn't have the same brightness and color accuracy as the more expensive variant.

S Pen

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite offers support for the S Pen, which means users will be able to do a lot of things with it. It's unclear, however, as to whether the accessory will come bundled with the device, or if interested parties will have to purchase it separately.

Other specs

Unlike the Galaxy Tab S6 which has four speakers, the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite only has dual speakers. The cheaper tablet, however, has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The newer device also has a 8MP rear camera and a 5MP snapper in front, GSM Arena reported. It appears to have a metal chassis. It also runs on Android 10, with Samsung's One UI 2.0 on top. It has a large 7,040 mAh battery as well.

Samsung quietly announced the device via its Indonesia website. That said, pricing for the U.S. remains unconfirmed at the moment. What's clear is that it will come in a Wi-Fi-only variant and an LTE version.
