At the launch event of the Galaxy S10 series that was held on Feb. 20, Samsung had unveiled the Bluetooth enabled Galaxy Buds wireless earbuds. Rumors are rife that Apple may announce AirPods 2 alongside 2019 iPhones later this year. Here is a comparison of the rumored specs of the AirPods 2 with the newly announced Galaxy Buds.

Apple had introduced the AirPods wireless Bluetooth earbuds along with iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in September. As it has been over two years since the Cupertino company had released the AirPods. Hence, it is speculated that the company may unveil the second-generation AirPods along with the 2019 iPhones later this year. Some reports claim that Apple may hold an event in March to announce new products. There is a possibility the company may unveil the AirPods through its spring event.

According to My Smart Price, the AirPods will carry support for enhanced Bluetooth connectivity as it will be equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 LE (Low Energy). The report had also revealed that the AirPods 2 that may resemble first-generation model. It also claimed that the AirPods 2 will offer deeper bass response. For better grip, it will be equipped with a new coating.

The publication stated that the AirPods 2 will arrive with more sensors compared to the predecessor model. It may gain some fitness-centric features such as ECG (electrocardiogram) for tracking the heart rate of the user, Wareble reported. Since the first-generation AirPods have no official waterproof rating, it is speculated that its successor may carry some sort of IP rating for water resistance. Apart from White, the AirPods is also rumored to arrive in Black color.

Samsung introduced the Galaxy Buds with a price tag of $129. Its cheaper than the AirPods that costs $159. However, both the devices carry similar specs. The AirPods is speculated to hit the market with a costlier price of around $200. The rumored specs of the AirPods 2 suggest that it will have better features than the Galaxy Buds. However, if the price is the discerning factor between the two, customers will opt for the Galaxy Buds.
