Samsung Launches Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition; Pre-Orders Start This Month

Samsung is gearing up to launch a new Galaxy S20 model in collaboration with K-pop band BTS.

The new and improved Samsung unit, Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition, will come with a pair of special purple Galaxy Buds+. Samsung first hinted at the release of its updated Galaxy model via Twitter before more details were dropped.

The Galaxy S20+ BTS edition smartphone will come in purple — a shade that is very close to that of the Mirror Purple of the Galaxy Z flip. And the matching pair of Galaxy Buds+ will amp things up for the new Galaxy smartphone.

Following a purple color motif for both the case and the buds’ touchpads, the Galaxy Buds+ will be including BTS-themed features such as the band logo on the case and the left earbud and a BTS heart shape on the right earbud.

While not much has been disclosed regarding the specifications of the new smartphone model, the specs of the base model, Galaxy S20+, are already known.

Samsung had launched the Galaxy S20+ in February. The smartphone boasts a 6.7-inch Infinity-O Dynamic AMOLED 2X display and is powered by Samsung Exynos 990 matched with an 8GB RAM. The model also has triple rear cameras as well as a single 10-megapixel front camera.

BTS member Kim Tae-Hyung, also known as V, reportedly promoted the base model just a month after its launch.

With a newer model to be released, it is likely that the Samsung Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition will feature similar specifications as that of the base variant on top of its minor design and software-level tweaks.

The Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition is slated for release on July 9 in South Korea. Pre-orders for the upcoming variant will start on June 19 and end July 5.

It remains unclear when Samsung plans to release its special edition smartphone globally. As per the Twitter post, Samsung stated that the availability of the Galaxy S20+ BTS Edition may “vary by country.”
