When you have a room full of politicians and glamorous celebrities, with journalists keeping a watchful eye, there's bound to be an awkward confrontation from those who hold office upon sight of those in the limelight.

That is exactly what happened when Rick Met Lindsay on Saturday evening at the 98th annual White House Correspondent's Dinner in Washington, D.C. hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama. According to a report from TMZ, former presidential candidate Rick Santorum played paparazzi and snapped photos of Lindsay Lohan at the dinner.

Santorum reportedly asked Lohan to take a photo with Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren, who was sitting next to Lohan, with his camera. TMZ reported that Santorum then proceeded to ask Lohan for a photo, but not with her, of her alone, which she agreed to.

In video footage produced by TMZ, a reporter pressed Santorum as to why he took the photo of Lohan, to which Santorum was quite confused as to whether or not he snapped a photo of the starlet.

I took a picture of a lot of people tonight, Santorum said to the reporter.

But Lohan wasn't the only star twinkling bright in the eyes of Rick Santorum. Santorum also took pictures with Sofia Vergara and Jamie Hyneman and Grant Imahara from Discovery Channel's Mythbusters.

Rick Santorum, a former Pennsylvania Senator, dropped out of the Republican presidential race earlier this month.
