Sarah Ferguson and Prince Philip had their first reunion in years at Princess Eugenie's royal wedding.

It has been reported earlier that the Duke of Edinburgh has not forgiven the Duchess of York yet for her toegate scandal. In fact, the 97-year-old royal couldn't stand to be in the same room with Ferguson, which led many to believe that their rift might result in a family friction on Princess Eugenie's big day.

When the event came, the two appears to be friendly. In fact, Prince Philip agreed to participate in the official photos with Ferguson. Speaking for the first time about their reunion, Ferguson revealed that she was pleased that she and Prince Philip were both present in the photograph.

"‘I have huge respect for him and always admired him. It was a lovely photograph of us all together," Ferguson said (via Daily Star). "It was very good to be with him again. My father and he used to play polo together. It brought back memories of that."

Prince Philip and Ferguson weren't amicable prior to Princess Eugenie's royal wedding. Royal experts even believed that Ferguson's scandal was the reason for her split from Prince Andrew.

"She was famously photographed with her financial advisor and she was wearing a bikini in some garden in the south of France and he appeared to be sucking her toes," royal biographer Penny Juror said in the documentary "The Royal Wives of Windsor."

"She was at Balmoral when those photographs came out. The family came down for breakfast and there was Fergie in this shocking scene and that was the end."

Royal commentator Dickie Arbiter also blamed Ferguson for being caught in such a scandalous scene. According to him, a married woman shouldn't behave in such a way.

"Okay you don't expect somebody to crawl through the bushes to take photographs of you topless while your financial advisor is sucking your toes," Arbiter said. "You don't expect that but by the same token you don't go away with somebody that isn't your husband and sunbathe topless."

Prior to Princess Eugenie's big day, Prince Philip and Ferguson were caught in a sticky situation. Ferguson visited Queen Elizabeth II in her Balmoral estate when Prince Philip arrived in Scotland to spend some time with his wife.

The two were reportedly avoiding each other. So, Ferguson made sure to leave earlier prior to the duke's arrival.
