Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s son Track Palin was arraigned on domestic violence and burglary charges Sunday, according to reports. The charges stemmed from an incident Saturday when Track Palin got into an altercation with his father, Todd Palin, prompting Sarah Palin to call the police.

Track Palin was charged with felony burglary, fourth-degree assault and criminal mischief. The incident occurred Saturday when the 28-year-old wanted to borrow his father's truck. A sworn police affidavit stated that Todd Palin had told Track Palin not to come to the home because he had been drinking and was on pain medication.

“[Track Palin] freaking out and was on some type of medication,” said Sarah Palin in a call to police.

This is his second time in two years he has faced assault charges.

Track Palin was arrested in January 2016 on charges of assault, interfering with a domestic violence report and misconduct involving weapons. His girlfriend, Jordan Loewe, claimed that he “struck her on the left side of her head near her eye with a closed fist.” Court documents allege the punch knocked her to the ground and that he kicked her and threatened suicide with an AR-15 rifle.

When officers searched the Palin home, they had found Loewe “hiding and crying underneath a bed.”

Track Palin pleaded guilty to a misconduct with a weapon charge for being intoxicated with a rifle while the assault charges were dismissed. According to the affidavit, his blood-alcohol level at the scene was 0.189.

At the time, Sarah Palin suggested her son’s issues stemmed from a year-long tour of duty in Iraq.

“My son, like so many others, they come back a bit different, they come back hardened, they come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airmen every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country,” said Sarah Palin.

At a party in Anchorage in 2014, Track Palin was reportedly drunk and shirtless and with "blood around his mouth and on his hands" after a brawl that involved men teasing his sisters. No charges were filed in the case.
