“Scandal” star Kerry Washington is expecting her second child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha — but don’t expect her character Olivia Pope to be flashing a baby bump! The actress revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that they’re hard at work hiding her pregnancy during filming.

“Big coats, big bags … hiding behind different body parts of other actors,” Washington explained to the daytime talk show host.

“Like if I’m in the back of the room, it can be, like, somebody’s leg, and I’m positioned behind it,” the 39-year-old star continued.

This is the second time that Washington has had to hide her growing belly on the set of “Scandal.” In October 2013 it was revealed that Washington was expecting her first child with Asomugha. The show decided not to write a pregnancy storyline into Season 3, opting to get creative with different props and camera angles.

Following Washington’s second pregnancy reveal, show creator Shonda Rhimes was questioned about whether she had a “game plan” for Olivia Pope going into Season 6. Rhimes told late night host Jimmy Kimmel, “absolutely, of course!” However, she did elaborate.

Based on Washington’s latest interview, it sounds as if the series is taking a similar route to Season 3. But fans of the ABC drama have a bit of a wait before Olivia Pope and the Gladiators return to the small screen. The network is shaking up their Thursday night fall lineup by airing a new series called “Notorious” in “Scandal’s” usual 9 p.m. time slot. It was announced in May that “Scandal” Season 6 will premiere midseason.
