Sean Hannity has been a prominent conservative voice for years thanks to "Hannity," his Fox News show, and syndicated radio program, "The Sean Hannity Show." On Wednesday, it was revealed that the conservative commentator had quietly divorced his wife, Jill Rhodes, over a year ago after being married for two decades, which may have surprised his large following. Here's how much the "Live Free Or Die: America (and the World) on the Brink" author is worth following the news.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hannity has earned $250M. Each year, he reportedly takes home a $40M salary.

After attending high school at St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, New York, he attended college at New York University, UC Santa Barbara, and Adelphi University. However, he did not graduate from any of the institutions. Following his collegiate career, he started a house-painting business and worked as a contractor before transitioning into the field of entertainment.

After smaller stints at various radio stations, Hannity got his big break when Fox News co-founder Roger Ailes asked him to co-host "Hannity & Colmes" alongside Alan Colmes in 1996. The show ran until 2009 and allowed Hannity to provide a conversation point of view to counter Colmes' liberal ideals. Prior to "Hannity," he also hosted another Fox News show,"Hannity's America," which was a solo TV show that ran concurrently with "Hannity & Colmes."

Even though he began making regular appearances on Fox News, he didn't stray from his radio career, which paid off in 2004 when he signed a $25M, five-year contract extension with ABC Radio (now Citadel Media). This allowed the show to run until 2009. In 2008, he also signed a $100M, five-year contract with Citadel Communications (who purchased ABC radio in 2007).

As for how the conservative host spends part of his money, it has been reported that he has acquired quite a few pieces of real estate over the years. After purchasing a large home in Lloyd Neck, New York, in 2003 for $3.45M, Variety reported that he and Jill had later placed it back on the market. He then bought an $8.5M mansion in 2008 in the village of Centre Island.

It has also been stated that Hannity has become a big investor in real estate outside of his primary residence as well, including buying a luxury penthouse in Naples, Florida.
