Jadeveon Clowney is the best available player after the 2020 NFL Draft. The defensive end has been unable to land the massive contract he’s been seeking in free agency.

Clowney could end up signing a lucrative, short-term deal. Several potential landing spots might make sense for the 27-year-old.

The Seattle Seahawks are the favorites to sign Clowney, according to BetOnline.ag. The offshore sportsbook gives Clowney 3/2 odds to be on Seattle’s roster in Week 1.

Seattle sent Jacob Martin, Barkevious Mingo and a 2020 third-round pick to the Houston Texans in exchange for Clowney just before the start of the 2019 season. Clowney had 31 tackles, three sacks and an interception in 13 games with the Seahawks.

The Indianapolis Colts have the second-best odds to sign Clowney at 2/1. Indianapolis has more cap space than all but four NFL teams.

The Colts didn’t select an edge rusher in last week’s draft. Indianapolis traded its first-round pick for San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle DeForest Buckner in March. Justin Houston was the only defensive lineman on the Colts’ 2019 roster that had more than five sacks.

The Tennessee Titans have been linked to Clowney throughout the offseason. Tennessee is third with 4/1 odds to land the free agent.

Tennessee didn’t draft an edge rusher, either. No Titans’ player had double-digit sacks last season.

The New York Giants (5/1) and Philadelphia Eagles (6/1) are considered to be contenders for Clowney. The Miami Dolphins (9/1) and Baltimore Ravens (14/1) are in the mix but unlikely destinations.

Houston drafted Clowney first overall in 2014. Clowney made the Pro Bowl each season from 2016-2018, averaging 53 tackles and 8.2 sacks per year during that span.

BetOnline gives Clowney +2800 odds to win the 2020 Defensive Player of the Year award.
