The Philadelphia Eagles are running out of time to prove they are the Super Bowl contender that many projected them to be entering the 2019 NFL season. Beating the Seattle Seahawks at home Sunday afternoon would be a good start.

While Philadelphia has been a disappointment through 10 games, Seattle is among the league’s best teams. The Seahawks are a game behind the San Francisco 49ers for the top spot in the conference and the NFC West.

The Eagles are 1.5-point favorites, according to the betting line at OddsShark. The point spread opened at a field goal. The total is 48.

Quarterback play is a large part of why Seattle is three games ahead of Philadelphia in the overall standings. Russell Wilson is a top-two MVP candidate. Carson Wentz looks nothing like he did two years ago when the Eagles’ signal caller received MVP consideration.

Wentz went 20-40 for 214 yards and a touchdown in a 17-10 home loss to the New England Patriots last week. It marked the fourth consecutive game in which the quarterback failed to throw for multiple scores. Wentz has posted a sub-95.0 passer rating in five of his last six games.

Wentz threw for 313 yards with a 121.0 passer rating against the Washington Redskins in the season opener. In nine games since, Wentz has only posted two triple-digit passer ratings. He didn’t reach the 175-yard mark in either contest.

Seventeen quarterbacks have a higher passer rating than Wentz. Twenty-six quarterbacks have completed a higher percentage of their passes. Eleven quarterbacks have thrown for more touchdowns.

Wilson leads the NFL with a 114.9 passer rating and 23 touchdown passes. He’s put together one of the most consistent passing seasons in recent years. Wilson has completed at least 64% of his passes in all but one game. The veteran has posted a passer rating of 102.6 or higher in eight of 10 contests.

Those performances have made it extremely difficult for Seattle’s offense to have a bad day. The Seahawks have scored at least 27 points in eight of the last nine games.

Seattle needed a defensive touchdown and overtime to reach 27 points against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. With the secondary now healthy, Philadelphia is up to 11th in opponents’ yards per play and ninth in total defense.

The Eagles have held three straight opponents to 17 points or fewer. The Seahawks rank in the bottom-10 in total defense, scoring defense and opponents’ yards per play.

Maybe Wentz will rebound against a mediocre defense in Week 12. The offensive struggles aren’t simply on the quarterback.

Philadelphia’s receivers are among the leaders in dropped passes, and Desean Jackson continues to miss games with an injury. The Eagles’ offense stalled when starting right tackle Lane Johnson left last week’s game with a concussion. It’s unknown if he’ll play Sunday.

The Eagles are winless in their last three meetings with teams that have a record above .500. Philadelphia has been outscored 92-40 in those games.

The Seahawks are 5-0 straight up and 4-1 against the spread on the road. Seattle beat the NFC’s top team before going on their bye in Week 11.

Philadelphia was just beaten at home against a Super Bowl contender, and they haven’t given much reason to believe things will be different in Week 12.

Prediction: Seattle over Philadelphia, 24-21
