Selena Gomez hasn't dated anyone publicly since her final breakup with Justin Bieber last year, but the singer-actress is in no hurry to jump into a new relationship.

Gomez recently opened up about her life in the spotlight and how her fame has affected her personal life. During an interview with Coach's "Dream It Real" podcast this week, the "Come And Get It" singer explained that she would like to be appreciated for more than just her looks.

Gomez may have also hinted at what she's looking for in a relationship that she had not found in her exes.

"I just think that the world today, with so much exposure to everything… it's great to dress up and to feel beautiful and to do those things, but...and I'm flattered when, maybe, guys are like, 'You're pretty,'" she said on the debut episode of the podcast on Wednesday. "I am, it's just not… I would just love someone to love me for the person that I am. That's just what's important to me."

The "13 Reasons Why" producer also said that part of the problem might be that many "don't understand [her] heart." She also shared that she is constantly judged for her appearance, which is something she doesn't appreciate.

Gomez also touched on the reason why she took a break from Hollywood and social media last year, explaining that she just wanted to focus on herself as she was "growing and changing." The singer-actress revealed that the time of reflection helped her realize a lot of things about herself, including what she would have done differently in the past.

But while she may have some regrets about the past, Gomez also has a lot to look forward to in the future. Following the release of her collaboration with J Balvin, Benny Blanco and Tainy, "I Can't Get Enough," in February, the former Disney star said fans can look forward to a full album soon.

Last year, Gomez and Bieber sparked rumors that they were back together after they were photographed packing on PDA in February. The two reunited at Bieber's father's Jamaica-based wedding, where the "Love Yourself" hitmaker and Gomez were seen cuddling and kissing.

However, the reignited romance seemed to fizzle out quickly as reports of them breaking up once more surfaced just a month later. A source told E! News in March 2018 that Gomez and Bieber "were having a lot of little disagreements recently and one fight, in particular, blew up and caused them to decide to 'break up.'"

While "Jelena" fans were still hoping they would get back together, especially after Gomez's sweet birthday tribute for Bieber that month, the pop stars split up for good at the time.

Bieber had moved on with Hailey Baldwin, with whom he got engaged in July 2018 and married in a New York City courthouse just two months later.
