Selena Gomez and Drew Taggart showed off their affection for each other in public for the first time since rumors started swirling that they are dating.

On Saturday night, the two celebrities were spotted out on a date night in New York City. The 30-year-old singer and the 33-year-old DJ stayed close and even held hands while strolling after enjoying a meal together.

Photos obtained and released by Page Six showed Gomez smiling while holding her rumored boyfriend's hand with one hand and carrying her smartphone in the other.

The pair did not seem to mind the paparazzi snapping them as they continued their walk. However, one photo showed Gomez letting go of Taggart's hand to cover her face from the camera flashes.

Gomez sported an all-black ensemble comprising a turtleneck, blazer, pants and platform shoes. On the other hand. the Chainsmokers artist opted for a more casual look, wearing jeans with butterfly prints, a black jacket over a blue hoodie and a pair of white sneakers.

Before the sighting, the celebrity couple reportedly dined at Torrisi Bar & Restaurant in Soho, according to Us Weekly. Details of their meal date were not disclosed.

Earlier in the week, the "Hands to Myself" songstress seemingly downplayed the romance rumors when she posted an Instagram Story that she was "single."

She shared an image of a cloudy sky and a silhouette of a man standing in front of a hill. "I like being alone too much. #iamsingle," she captioned the post, as per Daily Mail.

Gomez and Taggart were also spotted on a bowling date at The Gutter in Brooklyn two days ago, with one eyewitness telling Page Six that they were "making out like teenagers" at the time.

On Monday, an unnamed source confirmed to Us Weekly that Gomez and Taggart were officially dating, saying they were "very casual and low-key" with their relationship.

"They aren't trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members only clubs," added the tipster.

Meanwhile, Taggart's ex-girlfriend, Eve Jobs, deleted her Instagram account following the news of his romance with Gomez. The 24-year-old daughter of the late Steve Jobs initially wiped Taggart from her social media feed before deleting her account altogether.
