KEY POINTS

  • Seth Rollins is a former four-time world champion
  • He has won only 21 fights this year in the WWE
  • SummerSlam will take place on July 30

The WWE Company has announced a match for former champion Seth Rollins at the much-awaited SummerSlam event.

Rollins, a four-time world champion, is set to take on RK-Bro member Riddle in what is going to be a volatile showdown at SummerSlam, the WWE confirmed in an official release.

Since the absence of Randy Orton has left Riddle alone to battle it out, the Original Bro has had Rollins’ attention, especially since he delivered an RKO out of nowhere on The Visionary during a RAW episode on WWE. That move from Riddle took his rivalry against Rollins to another level and one could expect nothing but fireworks when these two come face to face at SummerSlam, the Biggest Party of the Summer.

While there may not be much of a story behind their rivalry, Rollins and Riddle are two of the best wrestlers in the WWE Company.

On Monday Night RAW, Riddle appeared on The KO Show, following which Rollins attacked him. He hit two stomps to send a clear message ahead of their clash at the SummerSlam event.

WWE's official Twitter handle posted a clip of the attack, and Rollins retweeted it with a strong statement. "I’ve hated this guy for a long time. Nashville is gonna be a reckoning," tweeted Seth Rollins.

SummerSlam is scheduled to take place on July 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

Rollins has had a tough time in the WWE this year. He has wrestled in 72 fights in 2022 but managed only 21 wins so far. The former two-time Universal Champion spent months trying to get an opponent for WrestleMania 38, which took place in April, and Vince McMahon picked Cody Rhodes, who eventually defeated The Visionary by pinfall on Night 1 of WrestleMania 38.

That wasn’t the end to his misery as Rollins lost three more times to Rhodes before attacking The American Nightmare on RAW after WWE Hell in a Cell. Rollins then vowed to win the Money in the Bank and cash in on Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. However, The Architect fell short in the ladder match.
