Pop star Sia has been in the game for quite a while. She's written songs for Beyoncè, Britney Spears and Rihanna, but it was her 2014 hit single "Chandelier" that ultimately thrust her into the spotlight. The Australian singer wears many hats -- including songwriter, producer and music video director -- and this fall she will be adding one more to the mix -- movie director.

The "Cheap Thrills" songstress' project was gained publicity when she was interviewed for a feature with Rolling Stone in 2018. In the publication, she admits that the musical was just a film at first before confessing, “Then I realized they’d give me loads more money if I made it a musical.” It's been almost a year since fans were given that snippet of information but don't think they've forgotten. Twitter asked Sia about the movie on Tuesday and she set the record straight, letting them know that the wait is almost over.

In less than half a year, Sia will make her movie directorial debut. The movie, titled "Music", will be released in October. Sia isn't all on her own with this, though. She's enlisted the help of actors Kate Hudson and Maddie Zeigler, who will both star in the film. Hudson will play the "sober, drug-dealer sister" of Ziegler, "an autistic teenager", explains Elite Daily.

Fans may recognize Zeigler as she's been in multiple of Sia's music videos. She first gained notoriety as a cast member on Lifetimes "Dance Moms" from 2011 until 2016. And fans of "Glee" may be happy to see Hudson in a singing role again.

With these three talented, big names on the manifest, there are high hopes for this upcoming musical. We can assume based on their individual expansive resumes that this musical is sure to be a hit but looks like we will have to wait until October to know for sure.
