  • Twitter users slammed Kody for not being aware of his alleged shortcomings to Ysabel
  • The netizens praised Ysabel for still wishing her dad the best and understanding his actions

Kody Brown raised eyebrows after his statement about his relationship with his daughter, Ysabel.

The drama between exes Christine and Kody continues, and the netizens seem to hate Kody more. In a recent episode of "Sisters Wives," Christine shared her plan to drop Ysabel off at college.

Kody reportedly got their daughter a reliable car, so they could drive across the country. She invited him to join them, but he allegedly declined.

"I would totally adjust whatever plans if he wanted to come if he could come but he's not coming with us," Christine said, People reported.

The Brown patriarch spoke about his relationship with their daughter in the episode.

"You know anytime I spent time with Ysabel, I spent most of my time doing a lot of work to draw her out of herself. I don't know what it is," he said. "I don't think I'm that big of an ogre. I don't know why she's not talking to me. I'm open to her. I don't know what it is."

Kody added that many people depend on him "more than just Ysabel." He also seemingly blamed his ex-wife for his strained relationship with Ysabel and her siblings.

"It just wasn't going to work in this case. I would have done it if we wouldn't have had the COVID thing. Once again, Christine sees this as an excuse, she sits there and talks to the kids, she has their ear. I do not have their ear," he said.

Twitter users who have been following the TLC reality show were not pleased with what they witnessed. Many slammed Kody for allegedly not taking responsibility.

"Kody is the least self-aware human being. Poor Ysabel...PS...she's so pretty! #SisterWives," one tweeted.

"Ysabel is such a sweet girl. I'm sorry Kody is such a pain. She does not deserve that. #SisterWives," another added.

"Ysabel forgave Kody, but she will never forget that he made a decision to stay home with Robyn and her kids rather than attend her major surgery. Maybe this is why there's distance, Kody Brown! #SisterWives," a third netizen wrote.

"Okay. I'm done. I can't. A person cannot be this dumb ... right? And she still loves him and wishes him the best. Ysabel is a saint. Kody, you are an ogre. Bye. #sisterwivestlc #sisterwives," another opined.

In December, Christine said that their daughter, Ysabel, was "really hurt" that her dad didn't join her when she underwent surgery because "she really, really relies on him when she's [in] pain."

Ysabel did not deny her frustrations in a previous episode at the time. Despite her pain, she chose to understand her father.

"I think his priorities are a little screwed up," she told the cameras through tears, People reported. "And l don't want to disrespect him because he is my dad and I understand, I do. I do understand why he's doing it, it's just really frustrating and really, really hard."

"Sister Wives" airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
