The Slam Dunk Contest is often the most-anticipated event of NBA All-Star Weekend. Four players will participate in Chicago in Saturday night’s competition.

Three of the players have Slam Dunk Contest experience. The biggest long shot is the only previous winner.

Dwight Howard competed every year from 2007-2009, winning the event in 2008. He’s back after an 11-year hiatus and has rejuvenated his career as a role player with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Aaron Gordon finished in second in 2016, which was one of the greatest Slam Dunk Contests in history. Gordon didn’t make it out of the first round in 2017.

Derrick Jones Jr. came up short in the finals of the 2017 contest when Glenn Robinson III was the winner. The Miami Heat forward is the favorite in Saturday’s competition.

Pat Connaughton is set to make his Slam Dunk Contest debut. It would be considered an upset if the Milwaukee Bucks guard wins the event.

It's been four years since the betting favorite won the Slam Dunk Contest. Hamidou Diallo was the biggest long shot in the field before winning last year's event. That was also the case for Robinson in 2017.
