Hallmark channel started 2021 off strong with a slate of films meant to help fans wipe away all of the concerns and fears they had from 2020, but all good things must come to an end—including the “New Year, New Movies” lineup. The final new movie, “Snowkissed,” stars Jen Lilley and Chris McNally.

Fans will certainly be in for a treat with this film, as it will be the first where Lilley and McNally both star, though they are both Hallmark vets. McNally may be best recognized for his work as Lucas on the series “When Calls the Heart,” but other titles he’s starred in have included “Sailing into Love,” “A Winter Princess” and “The Sweetest Heart,” as well as the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries title “Rocky Mountain Christmas.”

If fans don’t recognize him, they will most certainly recognize Lilley, who has starred in titles on both Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, including “A Dash of Love,” “Eat, Play, Love,” “Harvest Love,” “Yes, I Do,” “Mingle All the Way,” “Winter Love Story,” “Paris, Wine and Romance,” “Love, Unleashed,” “Angel Falls: A Novel Holiday” and “USS Christmas.” She is also recognizable from her time as Theresa Donovan on the NBC soap “Days of Our Lives.”

So what will happen in this film starring these two together for the first time?

“Kate (Lilley) is thrilled to be given the plum writing assignment of interviewing the author of her favorite self-help book, The Answer,” a synopsis reads. “The assignment requires her to go to Canada but Kate, a dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker, barely travels to Brooklyn. Facing her fears, Kate ventures to Lake Louise where she’s met by Noah (McNally), the owner of the B&B where she’s staying.”

Naturally, the two do not start off on the right foot, especially when it comes to their different interpretations of the book, but circumstances force them together despite their mutual dislike for one another.

“When her interview gets stalled, Kate is roped into helping Noah work on a tour guide he wrote to impress potential investors,” the synopsis continues. “The lessons and practice tours that ensue are challenging, but Kate helps Noah excel in the art of public speaking. The added benefit, to Kate’s surprise, is discovering the beauty of new adventures, especially through the eyes of someone who is capturing her heart.”

As she begins to fall for Noah, Kate will be forced to make a choice—does she continue playing it safe, or does she finally make a risky move?

“Before long, Kate finds herself facing a new dilemma: leaving the safe nest of her beloved Manhattan or embrace the unknown of love itself,” the synopsis concludes,

“Snowkissed” premieres Saturday, Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. EST on Hallmark Channel.
