JJ convinces Maya and Jimmy to take him on a college visit in tonight’s Season 2, episode 8 of “Speechless.” But as his ulterior motive unravels, JJ enlists the help of his new friend Tyson to keep him out of hot water.

In the trailer for the episode of the ABC series, B movie actor Tyson (Nick Viall) pretends to be the dean of the college the DiMeos are visiting.

“You’re the dean? You’re very young,” Maya (Minnie Driver) tells Tyson.

When Jimmy (John Ross Bowie) adds that Tyson also looks “hot,” the thespian replies, “I get that a lot.”

Elsewhere in the promo clip, Maya tells Jimmy that she will get a job to help him send JJ (Micah Fowler) to college. But Jimmy isn’t convinced that his wife can actually do that.

“You taking orders?” Jimmy wonders aloud before asking Maya to hand him the pen near her. When an annoyed Maya says “Get it yourself,” Jimmy reveals that it was a test and she obviously failed.

As to how JJ gets to convince Maya and Jimmy to visit the college, the eldest DiMeo kid tells his mom and dad that he wants to be an engineer, and it happens that the college they’re visiting is known for its engineering courses.

“It’s my passion,” JJ says of engineering in a sneak peek from the episode. “I want to make things. My life is a puzzle. I want to find solutions and help people.”

Elsewhere in episode, according to the synopsis for the installment, Ray (Mason Cook) goes wild when he’s left home alone for the first time.

The episode marks the first acting role for Viall, who is best known for his appearances on ABC’s “The Bachelor” franchise. The 37-year-old was the star of Season 21 of “The Bachelor.” He proposed to special education teacher Vanessa Grimaldi during the finale, but the couple ended their engagement in August.

Promo photos for the episode revealed that Kelli Goss and Rick Overton also guest star in the episode. Goss is best known for her role as Courtney Sloane on the CBS daytime soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” while Overton is known for his roles in films “Willow,” “Groundhog Day” and “Cloverfield.”

“Speechless” Season 2, episode 8, titled “B-I-- BIKINI U-N--UNIVERSITY,” airs tonight, Nov. 29 at 8:30 p.m. EST on ABC.
