It's rumored that Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Alfred Molina will return to the Spider-Man franchise in the new Marvel/Sony movie starring Tom Holland.

Collider confirmed that Maguire and Garfield, both of who previously played the role of Spider-Man, will make a return to the franchise. However, Sony and Marvel still need to close a deal with Maguire to make it official. Maguire's MJ will be there, played by Kirsten Dunst, and Emma Stone, Garfield's Gwen Stacy, is expected to sign a deal as well.

Molina, who previously played Doctor Octopus in the 2004 Spider-Man film, will be cast in the same role and was first reported by GWW when the famed actor was spotted on the set of the new movie.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Molina would be returning to the franchise as well.

Most notably, Jamie Foxx is also being brought back to the famed movie franchise and will play Electro. Foxx was previously cast as Electro in the 2014 film “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” but will play the evil villain again in the upcoming film.

In a previous Instagram post, Foxx suggested that multiple Spider-Men may appear in the movie, but it now seems closer to being confirmed. Fans of the movie stormed social media to share their excitement as many beloved characters will be making a dramatic return.

The rest of the cast has not yet been released but Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, and Tony Revolori are all expected to return to the franchise.

Unlike Garfield's and Maguire's films, Holland's Spidey movies have been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, connecting the Sony-owned property to the Disney-owned Avengers films.

In addition, Benedict Cumberbatch will play his usual role as Doctor Strange which fueled speculation that the storyline will feature a multiverse plot. Doctor Strange's next solo movie will also be named "The Multiverse of Madness" which adds to the suspicion.

Plus, the animated "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" provides a clear outline of how multiple Peter Parkers can exist in parallel universes.

Holland's third "Spider-Man" movie has yet to be named, but the film is expected to be released on Dec. 17, 2021.
