Steve Harvey’s net worth is around $160 million, thanks to his talent and resilience. Not everyone knows he struggled massively before making it big and even used to be homeless.

In the 1980s, Harvey used to live in his Ford Tempo and would wash up in hotel bathrooms and gas stations. He applied for different jobs but it did not work out for him each time, noted Good Housekeeping. The comedian had stints as a boxer, cleaner and a mailman but not until he reached the finals for Second Annual Johnnie Walker National Comedy Search had things started to look up for him.

In 1993, he was tapped to host the “Showtime at the Apollo” which paved the way for his own show, “The Steve Harvey Show” that ran for six successful years. He joined Cedric the Entertainer, Bernie Mac, and D.L. Hughley to form "Kings of Comedy" and they went on tour. In just one year, the tour recorded a $37 million gross and it was even spinned into a movie helmed by director Spike Lee.

His early struggles and not giving up until he made a break gave him life lessons that he would want to share to his fans. These came in the form of books he authored such as “Jump: Take the Leap of Faith to Achieve Your Life of Abundance”, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man”, “Act Like a Success, Think Like a Success” and “Straight Talk, No Chaser: How to Find, Keep, and Understand a Man.”

The 62-year-old comedian helmed his own radio show and other popular TV shows such as "Family Feud" and "Celebrity Family Feud." He was also tapped to host Miss Universe Pageant. He became the top headlines in 2015 when he wrongly pronounced the winner of Miss Universe. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise as he was chosen to host again in the succeeding years, including the recent Miss Universe 2019.

As per Forbes, Harvey earned a whopping $45 million in 2019, landind him the 69th spot of the World's Highest-Paid Celebrities of the year.

Harvey has a penchant for buying massive properties. He owns a home in Atlanta allegedly worth $3.4 million. He sold his condo in Chicago for $7.7 million and his home in Beverly Hills, California reportedly carries a monthly rent of $110,000, per Heavy.

Steve Harvey’s success is the fruit of his hard work and resilience. If he had given up when things were hard back then, he would not be the award-winning comedian and host that he is today. One of his advice to the younger generation is to hone their skills and maximize their talents.

"When we utilize our gift, the universe thanks us by giving us an abundance of riches — from abundant opportunities to good health to financial wealth,” he added.
