The Super Bowl 2022 MVP odds suggest that the trend of quarterbacks winning the award is likely to continue, though other star players are on the list of potential winners.

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the Super Bowl 2022 MVP favorite with +110 odds at BetMGM. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow isn’t far behind with +210 odds to win the award.

Stafford has been outstanding in the playoffs, throwing for 905 yards, six touchdowns, one interception and a 115.6 passer rating. Burrow willed the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance in 33 years.

Of the non-quarterbacks, Cooper Kupp is given the best chance to be named the Super Bowl MVP. The Rams receiver has +600 odds at BetMGM. Kupp led all players in catches, receiving yards and touchdown receptions during the regular season. Kupp has 325 yards and three touchdowns in the last two games.

It might not be long before Ja’Marr Chase (+1400) is viewed as the NFL’s best receiver. The Offensive Rookie of the Year favorite caught 81 passes for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns in his first season. After winning a national championship together at LSU, Burrow and Chase have better chemistry than most quarterback-receiver tandems.

Aaron Donald (+2000) is fifth overall and leads all defensive players. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year will look to take advantage of a Cincinnati offensive line that allowed nine sacks in the divisional playoffs.

Bengals running back Joe Mixon (+2500) and Rams receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (+2500) are Super Bowl MVP contenders. Rams running back Cam Akers (+3000) is the only other player with better than 50/1 Super Bowl MVP odds.

Tom Brady won last year’s Super Bowl MVP award, becoming the 11th quarterback to earn the honor in the last 15 Super Bowls. Two receivers and two defensive players have won the award during that span.

Rams edge rusher Von Miller (+5000) won the Super Bowl 50 MVP award with the Denver Broncos.
