It seems that the tension between Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and Hank Henshaw (David Harewood) will reach its boiling point in Season 2, episode 2 of “Supergirl.”

According to the synopsis for the episode, titled “The Last Children of Krypton,” Kara (Melissa Benoist) ends up seriously injured after a faceoff with Metallo (Frederick Schmidt) — a kryptonite powered villain tasked by CADMUS to wreak havoc in National City. Superman blames Hank for what happened to Kara, because it turns out that the kryptonite used to attack her was stolen from the DEO.

Apparently, this isn’t the first time Superman and Hank have butted heads. TVLine revealed earlier this week that the Man of Steel actually has “long-simmering dispute” with Hank over something the Martian refugee did in the past.

Harewood actually teased the antagonistic dynamic between Superman and Hank in a couple of Instagram posts a few weeks ago.

Whatever the cause of their disagreement is, it seems that the conflict between the two will be resolved in the episode since they will be working together to take down Metallo.

Hoechlin, Schmidt and their stunt doubles were spotted filming a fight sequence at Vancouver’s George Wainborn Park last month. In a video captured by a fan overlooking the set, Superman is getting the upper hand in the fight.

At some point during the duel, Hank’s alter ego Martian Manhunter — as seen in one of the photos taken by the same fan — enters the scene and holds Metallo from the back, giving Superman the opportunity to attack the baddie face-to-face.

Elsewhere in the second episode of the upcoming season, Kara meets her new boss, Snapper Carr (Ian Gomez). Unfortunately for her, her first day at her new job doesn’t go as planned.

“Supergirl” Season 2 premieres on Monday, Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
